The End of Spring!

Wow what a wacky spring we have had. It has been Hot and Hot and then Wet and even Wetter! My Garden Has grown by leaps and bounds since it was planted but most of its growth has been in the form of weeds. I will post up some pics next time after I do some long over due maintenance. Gavin Is done with” school” for the year and will start going to summer camp soon. He is growing like crazy and he becomes smarter and crazier everyday. I truly have a hard time remembering what I did before he was around. Life with a kid is Awesome. That being said We are expecting baby #2 . Jennifer is 13 weeks pregnant (due around 12/16/09) and all things are well. She had an appointment last week and heard the heartbeat. We were soo relived when we saw that tiny heartbeat about a month ago and so thankful that God is allowing us to have another little one. Other than that we have been living Life as usual and things are going great. I wish you all an Epic Summer and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Sleeper Garden 2009

Hello, I hope everyone is having a great spring. Here are some pics on my flickr of our garden for this year. I will update soon with some pics of its fruit. I also built a compost bin to start using our yard waste and table scraps to make some beautiful compost. I got the idea form Drew and got the pallets for free. I am going to something else for the front of it I don’t like the pallet as a gate I might make some slats or something so that I can open it easier. Anyway have a good rest of your Earth day all 44 minutes of it and a good rest of your week. Justin

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the snow. Well since my last post we have had Christmas, New Years, Jenn’s 30th Birthday, Gavin’s 3rd Birthday and Valentines day. Sheew what a busy time. Last timeI told you that we were expecting #2 and about two weeks after that update we found out that Jennifer had a miscarriage. It was a difficult time but we are all doing well and still working on having another little one. Gavin is doing awesome he has really started taking off with his letters and numbers in school and can even spell and write his name. Jennifer is working part time at the vet and still teaching P.E. for the Academy. I am still working at Verizon and having a grand ole time. We went to Florida two weeks ago and visited Some old friends and some family and had a really great time. The weather there was soooo nice. I am going to add some pictures to my flikr account this week from the holidays and our vacation so check back for those and have a great week. Justin

Family Update and Deep Thoughts…….

Hello everyone I hope you are doing well and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. I just wanted to give an uupdate about the family and let you know what is on my mind. First and Most important is that Jennifer is Pregnant with our second child or #2 as we are calling it right now. We are supposed to have an ultrasound on the 10th of December to see the heartbeat and make sure all is well. We are super excited and cannot wait to see his/her cute little face. Due date is around July, 12 so it will be close to my b-day. Gavin will be 3 in February and he is doing great he is almost fully potty trained and is speaking circles around Jenn and I , lliterally. Family life is really fun and I cannot wait to see what it will be like with another.

Ok onto the second part of my post which should probably be a second post but that would be more work.I would love to promise that I will write more often but most likely I will not so I will just try for now. I have really been thinking, praying, wondering, a lot lately and I am sure that I am not alone. First I have been thinking a lot about finances and how to be a better steward of them and how also to live below my means so that I can save for unexpected events, payoff loans, debts, etc and to just be in a better place financially. These are times for everyone with prices sky high and media doom and gloom and overall worry in the financial arenas of the world. Theses things worry me to an extent but mainly they make me want to get serious about my finances so that I can weather any storm that may come. I have read Mary Hunt’s books and I “know” how to take control of my fiances but I lack the tools to get started on my journey. I know some of you may have some tips for me and I would love to hear those but I also want to know what works for you in saving, budgeting, not overspending etc. I want to thank Aaron , Joe , Drew , for there constant blogposts and updates that keep me thinking and wanting to learn new things and better my relationships with Jesus foremost as well as with my family and friends and I thank all of you for being a support group for my family as well as great friends and I will “try” to keep you posted on baby #2 as often as I know something new. For now I look forward to your encouragement and tips and tricks and I hope that you all have a great and wonderful Christmas and New Years. Sincerely, Justin

Sleeper Family Update!

Well as you know it has been way too long since my last update and I am horrible about keeping this up to date. Anyway we are all doing good Jennifer Graduated from UVA A couple of weeks ago and is SO happy to be done with school. Gavin is doing great he is going to school part time for the summer at our churches summer program. He is running full speed and talking up a storm. Gavin never ceases to amaze me with his brains and talents. He is so smart and is always figuring out how somthing works or what is does, it is really fun to watch. I am doing good same old work as usual, I started somthing new though I am riding my bike to work as many days a week that I can get up on time to get there. This is one of the ways I am trying to improve my health as well as be a little greener, and save a little green at the pump. Wow It has been Tooo Long!

I apologize for the extended absence from posting.I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to get better at updating this in the future. We have had three friends have babies since my last post. Aaron and Katie had Miss Abigal Dininny. Nathan and Amanda had Miss Ciella Painter. And Nancy and Karl had Miss Lian Hoffine . They are all doing well and are very precious. Jennifer, Gavin and Myself are doing great. Jennifer is in her Next to last semester of School. She will be graduating with her Bachelors of Social Science from UVA in may of 2008. Gavin is growing like a weed and learning new things by the minute. He is talking running and jumping as much as he can. He is going to be 2 years old in February. I truly cannot believe how the time has flown by. I have been doing well and working working working, I thought being a grown up was supposed to be fun? Anyway I have added a bunch of pictures to our flickr account of Gavin, the progress of our cabin in the country and other misc stuff. Enjoy and I hope you are all doing well. Love , JJG

Somehow I completely forgot to mention my long lost brother Nathan and his wife Amanda are also expecting. They are gonna be mama and dada in September. One day Nathan is gonna move his family back to this side of the world so we can meet this baby and get to know it, until then I guess annual visits and e-mails will have to do . Now as far as I know that is all of the pregnant people I know of. But If I missed you I pray that you as well as those mentioned will have wonderful pregnancies and that your husbands will survive this time. Talk to you soon, Justin

Hello all of my loyal readers I hope that all is well with you and yours. My son Gavin is almost 13 months old or 1 year 1 month. This first year has gone by in a flash. He is now walking short distances without assistance. He is also feeding himself all kinds of things from chicken nuggets to broccoli. He only has a little bit of formula mixed with his milk each day and is slowly taking fewer bottles each day. He started taking swimming lessons with my mom and Jenn and has loved every minute of it. Jennifer and I are doing well , Jenn is on spring break this week and she is almost done with school. I am working at my same old fun job with Verizon waiting for what ever God has in store for me to make it self known. I certainly do not see myself here for thirty years like most of the other guy’s here. I have been feeling a calling of sorts for some time now and I am just unclear of what I am being called to. Once Jennifer is done I am going to start going back to school to get my bachelors based in religious studies and then I will go form there. Please pray for me in this area that I will hear the will of god and not what I think he wants me to do. Our friends Aaron and Katie are expecting there first baby in August and My friend Nancy (Mills) Haffine is expecting pretty soon. Life is awesome and I hope all of you are doing well . I am going to put some new picture up soon I promise and I apologize for not doing so sooner. Talk to you soon. Justin

I apologize to all of my loyal readers (Carolyn Sleeper), about not posting more often and adding new pictures of Gavin. Here is the quarterly update so to speak. Gavin is 11months old and walking with assistance as well as babbling up a storm. Our close friends Aaron and Katie just found out that they are expecting their first little bundle of Joy! The doctors told her that she is due on August 23, 2007, which is their wedding anniversary as well as Aaron’s twin sisters birthday. Gavin is going to be a year old on February 10, 2007. I cannot believe that it has almost been a year… Time has gone by too fast. My family bought 16 acres in Victoria Virginia in April of this year. We have built a pole shed to put our tractor , dirt bikes, and golf cart in. We had a cabin built by Cabin Homes Inc. They completed the exterior and we are going to finish the interior. Once it is complete it will be available for anyone that wants to come and enjoy. We are working on some walking paths and some places to sit and relax in the woods. There will be 12 spots to sleep and plenty of floor. So let us know if you wanna come and stay a while. I am uploading new pics to my flickr account of Gavin, the Cabin and general stuff. I hope everyone is having a great new year thus far and i hope to see you all here or there before too long. lata, Justin
